Uses of Famvir:

It is a medication that is used to treat viral infections. It is used to treat shingles caused by the herpes zoster virus. It also cures herpes simplex outbreaks that cause cold sores around the mouth, anus sores, and genital herpes.

In those who have genital herpes outbreaks frequently, It is used to help minimize the number of future outbreaks. It is a type of antiviral medication. It is not, however, a treatment for these infections. Even between outbreaks, the viruses that cause these ailments live on in the body.

The use of Famvir reduces the severity and duration of these outbreaks. It speeds up the healing process, prevents new sores from growing, and reduces pain and irritation. This medication may also assist in shortening the time that discomfort lasts after the sores have healed. Famvir can reduce the chance of the virus spreading to other parts of the body and causing serious illnesses in those with a weaker immune system.

How to use Famvir?

• Take this medication by mouth 2 to 3 times a day, with or without food, or as prescribed by your doctor.
• This medication works best when used as advised by your doctor at the first sign of an outbreak. If you put off therapy, it could not work as well.
• The dosage is determined by your medical condition and treatment response.
• Take this medication at regular intervals. Take it at the same time every day to help you remember.
• Without your doctor's permission, do not change your dose, skip any doses, or stop taking this medication too soon.

Famvir Side Effects:

• You may have a headache, nausea, or diarrhea. Tell your doctor or pharmacist right away if any of these side effects persist or worsen.
• Serious side effects include agitation, slower thinking, confusion, hallucinations, dizziness, drowsiness, symptoms of kidney issues, yellowing eyes/skin, or easy bruising/bleeding.
