What is Trelegy Ellipta?

Trelegy Ellipta is an inhalation powder that contains fluticasone, umeclidinium, and vilanterol in doses of 100, 62.5, and 25 micrograms, respectively. Fluticasone is a steroid that suppresses the release of inflammatory chemicals in the body. Umeclidinium is a cholinergic antagonist. A bronchodilator, Vilanterol, is used to open up the airways. How does Trelegy Ellipta work?

Directions For Use:

For COPD:

The recommended Trelegy dosage for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is one inhalation (puff) of Trelegy Ellipta 100/62.5/25 mcg once a day.

For Asthma:

One inhalation (puff) of Trelegy Ellipta once a day is the recommended dosage for asthma. Your doctor may prescribe Trelegy Ellipta 100/62.5/25 mcg or Trelegy Ellipta 200/62.5/25 mcg for this ailment. Their advice will be based on the severity of your asthma and if you've tried other asthma treatments before. 

Trelegy Ellipta should be taken exactly as directed by your doctor. Read all drug guides or instruction sheets and follow all guidelines on your prescription label. Doses Available As:

Each Trelegy Ellipta inhaler has 30 doses in total. Inside each inhaler are two foil strips containing blisters of the drug. One strip in each blister contains either 100 mcg* or 200 mcg** of fluticasone; the other strip in each blister contains 62.5 mcg of umeclidinium and 25 mcg of vilanterol.

Maximum Dose:

1 inhalation every 24 hours:

  • If you take too much Trelegy Ellipta and experience any odd symptoms, such as worsened shortness of breath, chest pain, elevated heart rate, or shakiness, contact your healthcare provider or go to the nearest hospital emergency room straight away.
  • Do not take any other anticholinergic medications for any reason. Check with your doctor or pharmacist to see if any of your other medications are anticholinergic/ long-acting beta2-adrenergic agonist (LABA) medicines.
